LUSM Undergraduate Team Won National Grand Prize in the 5th HR Professional KAS Contest

On 23-24 November, the 5th HR Professional KAS Contest of Chinese University Students & HR Professional KAS Contest of Cross-strait Universities and Colleges (hereafter HR KAS Contest) was held in China University of Labor Relations in Beijing. 366 students from above 70 universities and colleges attended the contest, including Renmin University of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Fu Jen Catholic University, Ming Chuan University.

After two days of fierce competition, LUSM team led by Dr. Zheng Gang won the highest award of the event, and furthermore, Yang Mo won grand prize in the section of workplace performance, Yang Yuanqi, first prize in design practice section, Lei Feiya, first prize in HR-English section, Wu Bo, second prize in leaderless group discussion and Shi Yuqi, second prize in case analysis.

The theme of this year’s event is “Gather Wisdom,Knowledge and Talent, Constructing the Empowerment Model of Applied Talents". It has attracted students from 120 Cross-strait Universities competing in sections such as leaderless group discussion, HR practice design, case analysis, etc. in 8 divisions. Problems and cases in real life HR management were added in each section to test the professional and problem-solving ability of college HR management students. The aim of the contest is to promote student’s learning ability and colleges teaching level, and at the same time build a platform for universities and enterprises, strengthen their cooperation, combine classroom knowledge with practice, and ultimately to construct a practical and efficient teaching-learning system.

Since the forming of the team, LUSM representative has prepared for 4 months under the instruction of Dr. Zheng Gang. Through learning theories, models, processes and skills in human resource management as well as HR practice in well-known companies, the students have elevated their skills and quality in HR profession. Their excellent performance in the contest has demonstrated the high attention the school has paid to undergraduate education and is of great significance to show the result of it.
