The LZU First-class Accounting Talents Training Forum held in LUSM

On the afternoon of Dec.21, the LZU First-class Accounting Talents Training Forum was held in Rm.1212 of Qiyun Bldg., gathering together practitioners in accounting fields, including Ju Qiang, CFO of Hua Ting Coal Industry Group Co., Ltd.; Wang Weiping, CFO of Duzhe Publishing & Media Co., Ltd.; Li Jinyi, CFO of 21st Metallurgical Construction Group Co., Ltd.; Li Jun, Director of CPA Management Center of Gansu Provincial Department of Finance; Li Zongyi, Partner and Deputy Manager of WUYIGE Certified Public Accountants LLP; Hui Quanhong, Partner and Deputy Manager of Da Hua Certified Public Accountants; Yang Yan, Manager of Gansu Jia Yi Certified Public Accountants; Ma longquan, Director of LZU Department of Finance; and other experts in accounting and auditing fields. LUSM leaders and faculty members from Department of Accounting attended the forum also.

Associate Dean Wu Jianzu, on behalf of LUSM, extended the warm welcome to all participants. Then he gave a brief introduction to the discipline construction in LUSM, and pointed out the challenges faced in the context of digitalization, globalization and green development. Associate Dean Wang Xuejun showed the general situation of LUSM and focused on the talent training on undergraduate level and its achievements. Prof. Sun Yan introduced the development of accounting department from the aspects of faculty team, scientific research, talent training and social service, and put forward the issues needed to be solved.

    

    

Participants discussed and shared their thoughts on the topics of the “Double First-class” construction, first-class accounting talents training, transformation of accounting practice in the new era, university-industry cooperation, and so on. Ju Qiang suggested that LUSM should keep all discipline construction and talent training work on the path of “Double First-class” construction. Wang Weiping shared his thoughts, from the perspective of employer, on the further development to be made by universities on training inter-disciplinary talents. Li Jinyi pointed out that the accounting talents training in the current age should be closely connected to “Da Zhi Yi Yun” (translator’s note: the next-generation information technology such as cloud computing and IoT, compared to the previous information technology reforms in the history). Li Jun shared the new requirements for CPA in the new era and put forward that the talents training should adapt to the trend and request from the practical world.

    

    

Hui Quanhong proposed a joint training base to be set in LUSM aiming to enhance the relationship between students and practice field. Li Zongyi took his own career path as an example and depicted the frame and aim of the accounting talent training. Yang Yan shared her thoughts on the training goals based on the practical needs from her institution. Ma Longquan talked about the accounting work in higher learning institutions and its function and important position for running the institution.      

    

    

Other topics, such as lectures by practitioners, university-industry cooperation, joint built internship base, and social service, were discussed by all participants during the conference. Prof. Wan Hongbo, the main inviter and convener for the forum, concluded the conference and hoped to further promote the accounting discipline in LUSM with the joint efforts from practice fields, by inviting more practitioners to LUSM to introduce the knowledge and practice into classroom, and connect closely to teaching faculties. Associate Dean Wang Xuejun expressed the sincere gratitude towards all participants coming to the forum from their busy schedule and sharing the valuable suggestions to the development of accounting discipline in LUSM.

The current forum is an exploration of the talents training reforms in LUSM in the context of new era, and will definitely strengthen the cooperation between LUSM and practical fields. All valuable suggestions and advices from the experts will guide the talent training reform in the next step.
