Great Results in “Zhexun Cup" Public Administration Project Design and Decision-making Contest for College Students in Northwest Region

On 15-16 May 2021, the first “Zhexun Cup" Public Administration Project Design and Decision-making Contest for College Students in Northwest Region sponsored by Shaanxi Association of Higher Education and organized by School of Public Administration (School of Emergency Management), Northwest University (NWU) was held in NWU. The LZU team, composed of undergraduates from LUSM and supervised by Dr. Mao Xuewen won the first prize, the best public administration project award and the best popularity award.

The contest was composed of public management project design, decision-making sandplay and team defense. More than 38 teams from 37 universities in Northwest China have participated in it. After over ten simulation matches and two Player Killings competition in Northwest, the LZU team finally stood out.

The competition showed the results of teaching and talent cultivation of public administration education in Northwest China, integrated theoretical knowledge with practice, and traditional teaching and learning with modern science and technology. At the same time, a seminar on teaching practice of public administration and a training on practical case teaching for faculty were held. Lang Mei, associate professor from China Research Center for Government Performance Management of Lanzhou University gave a special report on the topic of "The Influence of Lanzhou University's Subject Advantage of Government Performance Management on the Construction of Curriculum System".

Professor He Wensheng, Dean of LUSM, attended the closing ceremony and the flag handover ceremony as the honored guest. LUSM will hold the next Competition in 2022.
