The First Reading Fair Was Held in the Base Class

On May 27th, the First Reading Fair was held in Room 510, Teaching Building A in the east of Yuzhong Campus, which was distinctive to the Base Class. Besides all students from the base class, the vice head teacher Li Wenjuan from Class 4, Grade 2008 of Management and the vice head teacher Wu Xia from the management base class attended the fair. This fair aims to increase students’ interest in reading, enrich their knowledge and broaden their horizon.

The fair began at 2:30 p.m. All students were divided into 9 groups and the books they read were recommended by the head teacher Mr. Wu Jianzu. In the first section, the reporter from every group briefly introduced the catalogue of books the group had read by presenting PPT, including introduction to the author and the theme he would like to convey. The fluent explanation and strong skills in PPT making vividly showed their high quality. In the second section, the judge gave brilliant comments on students’ presentation and students put forward questions on book contents. At all times, the reading fair was full of active atmosphere. Students were active in speaking. In the end, Group 3, 4 and 6 were awarded the title of “Excellent Group in Reading”.

The reading fair came to a successful end at 5 p.m. On the two-hour fair, nine books were covered, including Mckinsey Way relating to their major, 1587, A Year of No Significance on literature and Tao Te Ching on historiography and so on. This fair was of great benefit to students and performed a function of making friends by reading books and exchanging ideas by talking about books.
