Dr. Tan Yan, an expert from the University of Adelaide lead a group to visit LUSM

On Sep. 3rd, Dr. Tan Yan, an expert on geography, environment and demography from the School of Social Sciences of the University of Adelaide lead a group to visit LUSM. Prof. Bao Guoxian, dean of the School, deputy dean He Wensheng, associate professor Guo Xiaodong and the working staff in the international cooperation office of the School hold a working talk with Dr. Tan.
Prof. Bao firstly extends his warmest welcome to the guests, and then introduces the measures the School takes in talents introduction, research team construction and research institute reform. Deputy dean He Wensheng demonstrates the general information of the School, and the achievements the School has made in talents cultivation, scientific research and subject construction. Guo Xiaodong also briefly introduces the research projects he currently engages in. Dr. Tan speaks highly of the achievements our school has made, and then she introduces some related research projects sponsored by Australian Research Council. She said that the two sides can do the joint research from the perspective of demography and management science.
The two sides reach consensus in students’ exchange, joint research, post-doctoral research, etc. On the basis of mutual trust and support, under the principle of “cooperation & mutual benefit”, the two sides will further conduct the negotiation, so as to achieve substantial progress.
