Delegation from School of Public Administration, Tsinghua University Visited the School of Management

On 20th, June, Bo Meng, Associate Dean of School of Public Administration, along with 14 MID(MPA in International Development - MID)students, came to visit the School of Management, Lanzhou University. Hong Liu, Deputy Director of Gansu Provincial Education Department, Qi Guo, deputy secretary of Lanzhou University CPC committee, Professor Wensheng He, associate dean of the School of Management, professor Xianghong Zeng, associate professor Xuejun Wang attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by professor He.

Deputy Director Liu, representing Gansu Provincial Education Department, expressed warm welcome to the delegation. Besides, he introduced Gansu province and its development in the field of education, and he hopes that, with the lead of “The Belt and Road”, Tsinghua University can further practice the strategic cooperation agreement made with Gansu province and strengthen the cooperation in the fields of talents cultivation, personal training, tackle hard-nut problems in science and technology, major strategic decision making consultation, etc.

Prof. Xianghong Zeng made an academic report.

During academic exchanging time, Professor Xianghong Zeng made a presentation on the topic of “The formation of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the cooperation between Gansu province and Central Asian Countries”. He talked about the favorable factors and challenges we face in building the Silk Road Economic Belt, and he focuses on the current situation and future direction of the cooperation between Gansu province and Central Asian Countries. Then, students further discussed some questions about the Silk Road with Professor Zeng. 

MPA in International Development – MID of Tsinghua University was a full time master program in English launched since 2007, which was open to only international students. The visit was considered as students’ social practice, which was part of their degree plan. This visit was the second visit. The first happened on June 23rd, 2015, when students of MID program came to the School of Management, Lanzhou University exchanging ideas about the development of Gansu and “One Silk One Road” program. Through this visit, the two schools agreed on starting future cooperation, which enhanced the relationship between the two schools.
