[Background Information]

Due to various objective and subjective factors, for colleges and universities in Western China, there still exists a large gap between the development environment and the requirements of the “Double World-class” Initiative (World-class universities, World-class disciplines), reflected on the barriers as lagged-behind education concept, insufficient pool of faculty, limited source of students. It is, therefore, a challenging issue for LUSMers who strive for the top-level undergraduate education in management, and carry out morality education.

The “Success Plan”, coming from the School motto of “The Learning of Management is the Learning of Heading for Success”, has launched its journey since 2006 and begun to take shape in 2011. It involves three elements, “Eagle Series of Presentations” (known as “Academic Activities Month” in the past), “After-class Scientific Innovation Program”, and “Mentorship Plan”, all designed to develop the innovative abilities and comprehensive qualities for students. By coordinating with the in-class study, the “Success Plan” demonstrated an innovative talent training system featured with multi-layer, integration and full-coverage.

Over the past 12 years, the “Success Plan” has worked well and provide a way to solve issues and problems existing in and caused by the traditional education system, such as the lack of self-directed learning, insufficient innovative abilities, and fragmented learning. The Plan, by embedding the innovative ideas in the concept, process and methodology of education, has exerted significant influence on undergraduates, not only enhancing their academic and employment competitiveness, but also cultivating their research abilities. The Plan has shown its demonstration effect and been highly recognized by universities and experts at home and abroad.
