Delegates of LUSM Attended AACSB 2019 International Conference and Annual Meeting

Between 14-16 April 2019, Prof. Wensheng He, dean of LUSM, Associate Professor Yanhao Zhao, assistant to the dean attended AACSB 2019 International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM) held in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The meeting brought together over 1,300 participants from more than 200 business higher education institutions from over 60 countries and territories. It mainly focused on the hot issues as trends in international business education, digital technology and innovation in business education, continuous quality assurance, responsible business education, and increased influence of business schools. During the three-day meeting, the delegates also shared and discussed in groups more than 20 thematic sessions and topics, such as "digital transformation and societal challenges”, "innovation and entrepreneurship education", " impact of high-level research", "teaching technology innovation", "faculty qualification", "lifelong learning" and "financial technology".

Since initiated AACSB accreditation, LUSM has its eligibility application successfully accepted by the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) in November 2017 and welcomed the mentor on-site guidance in May 2018. During the meeting, delegates from LUSM have made positive and effective exchanges with AACSB liaisons, leaders and peers from accredited school as well as schools preparing for accreditation, introduced the latest progress and expressed willingness to cooperate under the “Belt and Road” and “World-Class Universities and First-Class Disciplines” initiatives. In addition, the two also attended the thematic session on accreditation standards, and communicated with AACSB officers on preparations and features of LUSM in applying for AACSB accreditation.

During the meeting, Dean He also met with Prof. Sarah Dixon, mentor of LUSM, and reported the progress made in the reform of pilot schools, the management of faculty qualification and teaching quality assurance. While fully praising the progress of the LUSM, prof. Dixon also gave guidance to the emphasis and difficulty of the school's accreditation work.

Through the meeting, the delegates have learned the latest trends in international business education as well as the best practice of advanced business schools. In the meantime, deepened the mutual trust with AACSB International and business schools home and abroad. It laid a solid foundation for smoothly promoting the AACSB accreditation of LUSM.
