Delegates of LUSM Attended AMBA Global Conference 2019

During 12-15 May 2019, Prof. Guoxian Bao, Honorary Dean, Yanhao Zhao, Assistant Dean of School of Management, Lanzhou University (LUSM) were invited to attend AMBA Global Conference 2019 held in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Conference brought together over 300 participants from more than 100 business higher education institutions of over 50 countries and territories to discuss hot issues related to MBA education, such as International business education competition trends, artificial intelligence (AI) and teaching quality improvement, business ethics and employer expectations, as well as innovative entrepreneurship and student selection. During the three-day conference, delegates also shared their ideas with others through thematic presentation and group discussion on more than 10 parallel topics under the six themes of “AI and Leadership”, “Technological Transformation and Business Education Promotion”, “Challenges in Business Education”, “Student Diversity and Female Student Selection”, “Business Ethics and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem” and “Digital Technology and International Accreditation”.

Since re-accredited by AMBA in 2017, holding the guideline of “promote the development by the accreditation”, LUSM has committed to comprehensively deepening and extending international accreditation outcomes through quality construction and control in MBA education. During the conference, delegates from LUSM introduced the latest progress of the School in the construction of "Belt and Road",“World-Class Universities and First-Class Disciplines” initiatives and the continuous improvement of MBA education quality. In the meantime, they also conducted positive and effective exchanges with AMBA liaisons, leaders and partner colleges and universities. In addition, delegates from LUSM also actively engaged in the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education and Business Graduates Association (BGA) symposium, and communicated with person in charge at AMBA the preparation of BGA Pilot and the characteristics of our School’s development.

During the conference, Prof. Guoxian Bao also met and exchanged with Prof. Andrew Lock, Chair of the International Accreditation Advisory Board and Trustee Director of the International Management Board, Prof. Zhongming Wang, International Advisor for China and Mr. George Iliev, China Director and Director of Development Markets at AMBA on the progress made by LUSM in the reform of pilot school, the management of faculty qualifications and the assurance of teaching quality. The person in charge at AMBA/BGA fully praised and recognized the efforts made by LUSM in continuously improving the quality of MBA education and promoting BGA pilot.

Through the conference, the delegates have learned about the latest trend of integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence into business education, as well as the best practice of advanced business schools. In the meantime, deepened the mutual trust with AMBA and peer business schools home and abroad. The successful completion of this visit has played a positive role in promoting the internationalization of MBA and business education.
