LUSM Granted to Host the 12th AAOM Conference in 2021

On June 19, at the closing ceremony of the 11th Asia Academy of Management Conference (AAOM), Prof. David Ahlstrom, co-chairman of the current conference, announced that the 12th AAOM Conference will be held in Lanzhou University from June 19 to 21, 2021. This is the second time the AAOM conference being held in mainland China after 17 years. Prof. Wu Jianzu, also the Associate Dean of LUSM, delivered a presentation as the host on behalf of the School. Wu introduced the general information of Gansu province, Lanzhou city, and Lanzhou University & School of Management to the participants, and demonstrated the determination and confidence of LUSM as a host from three aspects: infrastructure, experience of hosting meetings, and the team. Finally, he played a fantastic video displaying the cultural and tour resources in Lanzhou and Gansu, known as the famous "Harmonized Silk Road, Beautiful Gansu”, as a perfect ending to the presentation.

The 11th AAOM Conference was held in Bali, Indonesia from June 19 to 21, gathering more than 300 scholars from over 30 countries and regions. By focusing on the theme of "Institutional Complexities and Organizational Responses in a Changing Global Economy", all participants discussed the impact from the changing global economy on the management research frontier issues and the management practices in Asia, in the fields of strategic management, business innovation, organizational behavior and human resource management, international management, organization theory, etc.
