Cambridge University, with its historical inspiration, rich cultural heritage and diversified wisdom, has become a holy place numerous students long for. On 20th July, in order to further strengthen the education of students’ social responsibility and cultivate their leadership spirit, LUSM has partially funded 8 students from LUSM and Undergraduate Leadership and Social Responsibility Program to attend the Future Business leaders Program at Girton College, Cambridge University to learn how to become a leader who can explore the future of business and guide the development trend of business.

The four-week summer program consists of two modules: course learning and cultural exploration. Focusing on four themes: business finance, business leadership, business communication and business strategy, the courses aim to improve students' leadership-related knowledge and ability by learning financial management, human resources management, risk management, and practicing communication ability, organizational ability, etc. Through a series of colorful activities, the cultural exploration module enables students to fully experience Cambridge culture and British culture outside the classroom, and expand their international vision and enhance their intercultural communication ability.

During the first two weeks, by having lectures on business finance and business leadership given by Dr. Oguzhan Karakas and Dr. Thomas Roulet from Judge Business School respectively, and attending seminars, LUSM students had a full understanding of the knowledge and practical application of economics, corporate financial accounting, organizational behavior and management through concept introduction, case analysis, group discussion and presentation, and at the same time improved their thinking ability, communication ability and organizational ability.

Although encountered problems and obstacles due to differences in academic backgrounds and English proficiency, the students were not frustrated and stopped. They carried out self-study and group learning actively and successfully completed the two courses.

The strength and charm of Cambridge go far beyond the classrooms. The academic discussion in the cafe, the classical music in the chapel, the winding lanes, the corners at the courtyard; the humanistic environment, the academic atmosphere and the cultural tradition are all imperceptibly shaping the character and temperament of the students. At the same time, with the help of student assistants at Cambridge University, LUSM students have experienced the unique charm of Cambridge and Britain through rich and colorful cultural activities such as punting, Shakespeare's play and English afternoon tea, etc.

The busy and substantial two weeks have passed, bathed in the star-studded academic palace, perceiving the calm and dignity, responsibility and courage of Cambridge, the students have been updating their ideas, broadening their recognition, and had a richer and more profound understanding of social responsibility and leadership. In the next two weeks, they will continue to study business strategy and business communication, improve their understanding and application of core business skills in all aspects through learning and experience in the university which has 800 years of people, ideas and achievements.
