2023 Version of Undergraduate Training Plan Revision Meeting Held in LUSM

On the morning of January 13, 2023, LUSM held an online meeting on the revision of 2023 version of undergraduate training plan, with the purpose to further promote the revision work and strive to improve the quality and level of the internal development of undergraduate teaching in LUSM. Relevant leaders of LZU Academic Affairs Office, LUSM leadership team, members of the LUSM teaching steering committee, department heads and major heads attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Prof. He Wensheng, also the dean of LUSM.

Associate Dean Zhao Yanhai firstly conveyed the information of the revision meeting on university level, introduced the requirements of the revision in detail from the guiding ideology, positioning objectives, principles and requirements, the general framework of the training program and the curriculum system, and deployed the work plan arrangement for next steps.

Then professors from each department / major, including Prof. Lang Mei, Head of Department of Public Administration; Assoc. Prof. Wang Lei, Head of Department of Accounting; Prof. Niu Chunhua, from Department of Information Management and System; Assoc. Prof. Zheng Gang, Head of Department of Business Administration; Prof. Zhang Ruoyong, in charge of Human Resource Management major; and Assoc. Prof. Li Zhiyuan from Department of Marketing, introduced the revision work respectively, and introduced the analysis of research and comparison of other universities, construction of curriculum system, setting of practice sessions, and the existing problems in the revision work and improvement measures.

Zhao Yanhai further explained the requirements of the implementation rules of the school, emphasizing that it is necessary to combine the actual situation of the school, the requirements of strategic development and the positioning of talent cultivation, with the goal of cultivating digital talents and promoting the specialization, curriculum, achievement and industrialization of digital education, giving full play to the disciplinary advantages of the school; focusing on the construction of the knowledge and ability system of the new liberal arts composite talents in management with the demand of emerging industries such as Internet, big data and artificial intelligence as the traction; strengthening current internal training programs of the school; taking AACSB accreditation standards as the benchmark, to implement the quality assurance requirements, and deepen the construction of internal teaching quality assurance system.

Prof. Tian Zhonghe and Assoc. Prof. Li Zhiyuan put forward their opinions and suggestions on the revision work respectively. They fully affirmed the preparation of the revision work and suggested that the next step should be to implement the specific measures as soon as possible, strengthen the reform of cultivation methods, give full play to the advantages of the basic courses of the school, earnestly perform "research for learning", strengthen students' ability to connect with the society, strengthen the feedbacks of professional degree education to undergraduate education, increase students' attention to social practice, and carry out resource integration and joint teaching quality assurance system.

Han Wei, Director of LZU Faculty Development Center, offered her opinions and suggestions on promoting the revision work. It was emphasized that the school should deeply understand the basic idea of the revision work of the university. By staying in the stage of "raising requirements and setting standards", it should speed up the overall progress, and make use of the professional advantages to ensure the smooth implementation of the revision work.

He Wensheng concluded the meeting. On behalf of LUSM, he expressed his gratitude for the guidance and support from the Academic Affairs Office, and fully affirmed the current work of talent training for all majors. He stressed that the talent training program is the basis of major construction, and it is necessary to deepen the understanding and practice the concept of "entering the mainstream, striving for dominance, and strengthening characteristics", with the person in charge of national first-class undergraduate majors as the first responsible person and the department head giving full play to the role of mobilizing, coordinating and supporting, so as to jointly improve the quality of teaching and promote the development of the school and discipline construction. In accordance with the requirements and timeline of the promotion plan, LUSM will complete the revision work with high quality.
