The EMBA program was offered with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in 2009, which is at present the only approved university to establish EMPA program among Gansu, Qinghai and Ningxia areas. Focusing on improving students’ decision-making ability and strategic vision, by combining management philosophy with management practices, and through case analysis, simulation exercises and overseas field trips, the EMBA program aims to cultivate international and professional management person with international perspective, innovative spirit and leadership to adapt to globalization and cross-cultural environment.

The EMBA program adheres to quality as lifeline and carries out strict teaching management. Students are tutored by world’s-top scholars from around the world. Since establishment, the EMBA program has achieved excellent results and attracted high quality source of students, most of which are middle and senior managers in medium or large-scale enterprises and governments departments with fine career background and comprehensive quality. The average working life of students is over 20 years and the average management time is over ten years.

I.RECRUTING POLICY

The EMBA Program offers management education of master level to senior executives in economics and managing departments of enterprises and governments.

1.Objectives: To cultivate modern entrepreneurs and leaders with international perspective,        insight into market rules, innovative spirit , leadership,  strong sense of social responsibility and the ability to grasp overall situation.

2. Prospects: Entrepreneurs who devote to starting a business or self development, high-level professional managers, excellent senior managers in government departments or social organizations and potential middle managers.

3. Admission Plan: Programmed enrollment of 100 students. Receive enrollment all year around with spring and fall recruitment.

4. Duration：18 months

5.Tuition： RMB160,000

II.Registration Procedure

i.Registration requirements:
　　1. A bachelor's degree or above.
　　2. A minimum of 8 years’ work experience and 4 years’ management experience .
　　3. Applicants should be middle or senior managers in medium or large-scale enterprises or         

governments departments.
　ii. Registration fee：RMB100

iii. Registration： Registration is accepted for all year around. Applicants download registration forms, fill   in and submit related materials including application form, certificates, references, origination chart and thesis about the management of the origination that applicants are working in.

EMBA Admission Center will make the qualification examination of the applicants’ submitted materials. Ones who pass the qualification examination can attend the entrance examination organized by EMBA Admission Center of School of Management Lanzhou University.

　III. Entrance Examination

According to the requirements of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Ministry of Education and China National MBA Suoervisory Committee, the EMBA entrance examination is granted to self-assign topics. The entrance exam consists of interview and written test.

　IV. Admission

Candidate admission is based on comprehensive scores. Written tests take 30% and interview 40%, with educational background, working experience, leadership potential and learning ability taking 30%.

Credit systems with a minimum of 500 hours and 32 scores at least. Emphasizing integrating and decision direction, EMBA curriculum combines reality and global environment , divided into  compulsory courses and optional courses.  

　V. Degree

To get the degree, dissertation is required which can be a research about management practices or case studies. Students, who finish all the required courses, qualified in exams and pass the dissertation defense, will be granted EMBA degree.
