LUSM Participated in the 11th China Human Resource Management Forum and won Awards

From September 15 to September 18, 2023, the 11th China Human Resource Management Forum was held in Jinan, Shandong Province. It was co-sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Management for Organizational Behavior and HRM, Nanjing University Business School, School of Management,Huazhong University of Science & Technology, School of Management,Shandong University,and jointly organized by School of Management, Shandong University, and Shandong Talent Development Strategy Research Institute. Nearly 900 scholars, teachers and students from over 200 colleges and universities through China, alongside renowned entrepreneurs and human resource practitioners attended the forum. The conference centered around the theme of “The Change and Development of Human Resource Management under Chinese Modernization”. Professor Zhang Ruoyong’s team, Professor Wei Xuhua’s team and Associate Professor Rui Zhengyun as well as other LUSM’s faculty members and students participated in the forum by exchanging academic papers.

On the morning of September 16, Zhao Shuming, Chairman of the forum, and senior professor of humanities and social sciences and Honorary Dean of the School of Business at Nanjing University, Chen Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong University, Liu Zuoyi, Deputy Director of the Management Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Yang Zhi, Dean of the School of Management of Huazhong University of Science & Technology delivered speeches successively. Director Liu Zuoyi and six other guests made keynote speeches on “Interpretation of the Reform of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)”, “Research on Work-Life Balance”, “Research Progress and Content System of Spatio-Temporal Theory", “AI and Organizational Innovation Management”, “Aging and Career Development” and “Dynamic Research Perspectives on Strategic Human Resource Management”.

On the afternoon of September 16, the sub-forum of the conference was opened. The forum held a total of 28 sub-forums on 14 topics such as “Artificial intelligence” and “Digitalization”. Wang Yilin, a postgraduate of LUSM, and Chen Zimeng, a doctoral candidate, represented the research team at the meeting to display and exchange academic papers, and listen to the suggestions of forum review experts and other participating universities teachers and students.

On the evening of September 16, the Forum conducted a parallel forum report covering topics such as Sharing and Exchanging Experiences of Declaring National Fund Projects, How to Conduct Practice-oriented Human Resource Management Research, Sharing of Research Methods, and Face-to-Face Communication between Journal Editors and Authors.

September 17, three scholars, including Professor Zhang Kai of Renmin University of China, gave a report on “Dilemma and Transcendence of New Theory Construction of Management”, “Human Resource Management in New Venture Enterprises”, and “Artificial Intelligence Research in OBHR Field”. After that, the Entrepreneurs’ Forum and the Peak Dialogue between Entrepreneurs and Management Scholars began in turn. The forum invited Wang Weizhong, Chairman of Shandong Talent Group, Ma Baolong, President of Hisense Academy of Hisense Group, and Zhang Qingkuo, Chairman of Shenzhen Aihua International Education and Technology Co., Ltd., to participate in the sharing and dialogues, and had a lively discussion with Prof. Long Lirong of Huazhong University of Science & Technology, Prof. Liu Hong of Nanjing University, and Prof. Yan Aimin of Central South University on the issues of HRM and digital transformation of the enterprises.

At the closing ceremony, Prof. Zhang Zhengtang of Nanjing University Business School announced the list of winning papers of the forum. Professor Zhang Ruoyong’s research paper Color of Vigilante: The Influence Mechanism of the Legitimacy of Punishment Behavior on Bystanders’ Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Professor Wei Xuhua’s research paper Influencing Factors and Formation Path of Organizational Resilience of Family firms in Leadership Emergencies won the third prize of “Shu Ming Paper Award” and the Excellent Paper Award respectively. Professor Zhao Shuming presented certificates to the winners.
