CEO of AMBA Visited School of Management

On 13 Oct. 2016, Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of AMBA visited Lanzhou University and learned the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship as well as preparation of reaccreditation of School of Management.

On the morning of the same day, the school held a meeting, Prof. Whensheng He, Assistant Dean has introduced the development of School of Management and Yanhai Zhao, deputy director of Professional Degree Education Center has introduced the progress made after the accreditation, after which Mr. Wilson expressed the deep impression he had on the progress the school has made after the accreditation and appreciated the involvement of School of Management in activities held by AMBA. Mr. Wilson has mainly discussed with school of management in three aspects: changes of accreditation standards of AMBA, cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship skills and development of EMBA and EDP. At the end of the meeting, Guoxian Bao, Dean of School of Management introduced the current situation of MBA education in Nantong Base and future development ideas. The two parties have discussed the cooperation between School of Management Lanzhou University and other international business schools with the help of AMBA.

After the meeting, Baotian Pan, Vice President of Lanzhou University met with Mr. Wilson. In order to know the development of innovation and entrepreneurship of School of Management, Mr. Wilson has also visited Lanzhou Creative Culture Industry Park and Gansu Yellow River Painted-Pottery Culture Institute.

Mr. Wilson’s visit has on one hand deepened the school’s understanding of the new accreditation standards of AMBA, and on the other, enhanced the understanding of AMBA to Lanzhou University, which will benefit future communication and cooperation of the two parties.

Background Link: The full name of AMBA is Association of MBAs. It is headquartered in London and is one of the world three business school accreditation organizations. In September 2014, the School of Management, Lanzhou University has passed site assessment of AMBA and become a member of AMBA. The date of reaccreditation is in September 2017.
