On June 22, the 2014 Cross-Strait Conference on Information Management and Public Administration (CSCIMPA2014): Informationa and Public Crisis Management, co-hosted by School of Management, Lanzhou University and College of Business and Management, Tamkang University, was held in Run Run Shaw Science Center Room 114. The conference was hosted by Prof. Sha Yongzhong, director of Institute of Crisis Information Management of LUSM, Prof. Zheng Qibin, director of Department of Information Management, Tamkang University, and Prof. Huang Yi-Feng, director of Department of Public Administration, Tamkang University.

Prof. Cai Guoray, Tsuiying chair professor at the LUSM made a report titled “Managing Data and knowledge for Insight”. Prof. Sandeep Purao from Pennsylvania State University made a report of “Design Science Research in Information Systems” and Prof. Zheng Qibin, from Tamkang University gave a report on “Operation Decisions of Container Carriers under East-west Trade Imbalance”. Faculty and students from LUSM, Department of Information Management and Department of Public Administration in Tamkang University made thesis exchanges which refer to the area of data mining, internet security, human resources management and emergency management, etc.

The conference was one of the 10th Anniversary of LUSM Series Activities, which not only helped build cross-strait academic relationsip but also provided possibility for exchange and cooperation in two disciplines of Information Management and Public Administration.
