The 9th Forum on Audit Theory Innovation Development (FATID 2019) Held at LZU
From November 15 to 16, the FATID 2019 was held in School of Management, Lanzhou University. It was hosted by Center for China’s Governmental Auditing Research and sponsored by Golden Education, with More than 300 participants from over 70 universities joining in. President Yan Chunhua met with Sun Baohou, the former Deputy Auditor-general of the National Audit Office, before the opening ceremony.

In the morning of November 16, the FATID 2019 officially set sail in the Student Center of LZU. The Vice-president Sha Yongzhong of Lanzhou University, Vice-chairman Jiang Jianghua of China Auditing Society, and Director Cai Chun from Center for China’s Governmental Auditing Research addressed the opening ceremony. Sun Baohou, the former Deputy Audit-general of the National Audit Office; Ma Xiaofang, commissioner in Lanzhou from National Audit Office; Zhang Yanfei, deputy commissioner in Lanzhou from National Audit Office; Kong Bin, Deputy Director of Audit Office of Gansu Province; Li Changxin, regional director for university department in Golden Education, attended the opening ceremony. The LUSM Party Secretary Yao Chengfu presided over the ceremony.

During the 2-day sessions, invited keynote speakers, as Sun Baohou, the former Deputy Auditor-general of the National Audit Office; Yao Shujie, Changjiang Scholar from Chongqing University; Jiang Jianghua, Vice-chairman of China Auditing Society; Chen Chao, Distinguished Professor from Fudan University; Chen Hanwen, Chairman of academic committee of CCGAR; Xin Qingquan, Changjiang Young Scholar from Chongqing University; Zhang Yun, tenured Associate Professor of the George Washington University; Zhang Longping, Deputy Chairman of academic committee of CCGAR; Li Qingyuan, Changjiang Young Scholar from Wuhan University; Tian Gaoliang, Professor from Xi’an Jiaotong University; and Yang Suchang, academic member of CCGAR from Lanzhou University, have shared their thoughts on several topics, including the development of auditing theories in new era, strategic plan for sustainable economic development in China under the context of Sino-US trade friction, the function of national auditing work in examining economic development, challenges of empirical research regarding auditing quality, mode of national audit, external verifiability and accounting audit quality, auditor-shareholder conflict and interaction between financial accounting and auditing regulations, ways to dealing with audit credibility crisis, interdisciplinary research and accounting, political uncertainty and the business investment cycle, and reform on auditing work in China, and so on.

At the 7 parallel sessions, 42 speakers delivered their research outputs in the area of national audit, macro environment and audit, natural resource audit, internal controls, CPA audit, and so on.
