An Online Interactive Exchange between LUSM and FHNW University of Applied Sciences Students

On April 8th, LUSM organized 20 students and held an online interactive exchange themed “As a Business School Student, What is Your Responsibility in Response to COVID-19?” with its partner FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. The activity was part of FHNW’s prestigious project, Insight China.

Overcame time difference and communication mode limitation, faculty and students from LZU and FHNW met on Microsoft Teams. After a short introduction of each other’s basic information by Zhao Yanhai, LUSM associate dean and Jiang Yufan, Head FHNW China Centre Executive Programmes respectively, 38 students divided into 5 groups communicated and shared their action and responsibility as business school students. The activity has not only enhanced understanding, strengthened friendship between each other, but offered an opportunity for students from two universities to learn from each other, to renew their ideas and broaden their horizons.

Between March 30th and April 9th, LUSM students has also participated in 5 online workshops organized by Insight China and Foreign Affairs Office of Gansu Province, Uli Sigg, former ambassador of Switzerland to China, HUAWEI, Shenzhen Technology University and Han's Laser Technology.

The prevention and control of the epidemic has no stopped international exchange. This activity has not only built a platform and expanded channels for students’ international exchanges, but also enriched the cooperation between LUSM and FHNW, which is of great significance.

【Background Information】

LUSM has established partnership with the School of Business, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland in 2010, and have collaborated in the areas of faculty and student exchange, joint research, etc. The canton, Soloturn where the university is located is a sister province of Gansu, and the relationship was built in 2010. 

Insight China, established in 2001 at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) is an international student project which aims to generate valuable insights into the most important contemporary issues relating to economic, social, and political relations between Switzerland and China for its partners and delegation and to create an interactive and valuable study program.
