Delegate of LUSM Attended AACSB Virtual ICAM 2021

The AACSB Virtual International Conference and Annual Conference (ICAM) 2021 was held from April 4 to April 9. Prof. HE Wensheng, dean of LUSM was invited to attend.

Integrating with AACSB’s concept of Connecting for Better, with the theme tracks to quality, impact, student success, and innovation, the 2021 virtual ICAM sets more than 40 hours of engaging sessions, peer networking, regional and topical meetings, and social discussions. The content of the conference covers 2020 Standards, Macrotrends Exploring, Experiential Learning and Resilient Teaching, Digital Transformation in Higher Education, innovations Born of COVID, Responsible Management Education, and Societal Impact with the UN SDGs, which attract 877 delegates in over 460 schools and organizations from more than 50 countries to attend.

LUSM fully engaged in the whole session of the conference. The delegate listened to keynote speeches entitled Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know and Leading a Business School in an age of Anxiety, Political Activism, and Social Media; participated in the Initial Accreditation Q&A session mainly focused on the transition of 2020 accreditation standards, the preparation of required tables, base-room allocation and materials collection, and onsite/online visit. Particularly, through virtual booths and exhibitor networking, the delegate learned about innovation practices from more than 40 educational institutions on entrepreneurship, partnership, and the integration between CSR and SDGs.LUSM’s journey to AACSB accreditation has now entered a critical stage. The ICAM 2021 has provided guidance to the delegates for fully understanding the transition of standards, the process, and requirements of online visits, and the innovation and trends of business education in the post-COVID-19, and played a positive role in promoting the next step of AACSB accreditation.

AACSB was founded in 1916 and is the accreditation for all degree programs of business. With connections to peers, business partners, and global communities, its ICAM holds once a year is the largest global gathering of business school delegates for networking.

LUSM officially launched its accreditation journey in 2017. With its iSER and first progress report has approved by the IAC respectively in 2019 and 2020, the school is now preparing for the panel visit. By the end of March 2021, a total of 40 schools and educational organizations in China (including Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan) have been accredited by AACSB.
