On February 19^th, the LUSM spring 2022 semester meeting was held. Faculty, staff and student representatives totaled over 150 attended the meeting which was presided by party secretary Liu Yajun.

At the beginning, Dean He Wensheng announced the appointments of Mr. Chang Tao being the vice party secretary and associate dean, professor Zhang Guoxing, the associate dean of the school. He then reviewed the achievements as well as existing problems and reflections of the last year, and the plan for 2022, after which, members of the school discussed in groups on the topics of how to carry out organized research, the reform of research institutes, evaluation of research output, etc. and shared their thoughts and advices.

At the end of the morning, professor Bao Guoxian, honorary dean of LUSM was invited to provide his insights into the development of the school. He suggested that in the new year the school could seek breakthroughs from three aspects: first, constantly improve the construction of scientific research system and realize the true sense of interdisciplinary integration; second, to solve the contradiction between the modernization of technology and the traditional governance concept, system and organizational structure, and promote the modernization of the governance of the school; third, continue to innovate, improve and construct the school culture, transform the culture into the consciousness of teachers and students, and promote the high-quality development of LUSM with the guidance of school culture.

In the afternoon, associate dean Zhao Yanhai, Wu Jianzu, Zhang Guoxing, Chang Tao, Shan Feifei-vice director of professional education center, Li Yanxia-vice party secretary reported the work of their responsible areas. During the time, the school has appreciated the faculty who have retired last year for their hard work and dedication, and welcomed the new blood of the team, which is an important way to carry forward the great culture of the school. Awards were also presented to faculty who have outstanding contributions in talent training, scientific research and social service, etc.

Dean He concluded the meeting by saying that, the development and achievements made by LUSM are the results of hard work of every LUSMer. In 2022, the school will implement the "14th five-year plan", focus on the construction of "first-class discipline", recruit more talents, improve the quality of talent training, promote the quality and efficiency of high-level scientific research, carry forward international accreditation and cooperation, strengthen the level of administrative services, improve working conditions, and strive for greater achievements.
