The 2022 Annual Meeting of the Organization and Strategic Management Committee of Chinese Academy of Management Held by LUSM
On December 25, the annual meeting of the Organization and Strategic Management Committee of Chinese Academy of Management was held online with the theme of "Possible organizational patterns and transformation paths in the age of digital intelligence", organized by LUSM. More than 170 experts, scholars and postgraduates from famous universities and research institutions in China attended the conference. Prof. Luo Jiade, from the Department of Sociology of Tsinghua University, chaired the opening ceremony. The conference was held for 1 day, with a special session for target papers and a special session for presentation. Participants reported and discussed in depth the scientific issues such as the possible shape and transformation path of organizations in the era of digital intelligence, and delivered reports in the fields of strategic management, innovation and entrepreneurship, organizational behavior & human resource management, and family business.

At the opening ceremony, Prof. He Wensheng, Dean of LUSM, expressed his sincere welcome to the speakers and experts. According to him, the two topics of the conference, "Digital Intelligence and Ecosystem" and "Digital Intelligence and Sustainable Development", are of great concern to the current Chinese business administration community. The conference would provide a platform fo full discussion and communication among all academic colleagues, to form a resonance of ideas, systematic thinking and preliminary solutions on the important issues, and jointly promote the innovative development of business administration in the era of digital intelligence.

In the special session of target papers, scholars shared and discussed five target papers in a lively atmosphere. Prof. Luo Jiade from Tsinghua University was the first to share a paper titled “Rethinking the Paradox of Knowledge Delivery and Network Structure on Predicting Team Innovativeness”. Taking the construction of collective team functions in enterprises as an example, he explored the problem of yin and yang in social computing research by using social computing methods of big data and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Zhao Changyi from Sichuan University shared a paper titled "The Red Brand and the Process Mechanism of Key Core Technology Breakthroughs of Mega Project: A Longitudinal Case Study on the Development of G50 Heavy Duty Gas Turbine of Dongfang Electric Corporation". His team adopted a longitudinal single-case study approach, based on the combination of resource scheduling process of a company with significant branding characteristics and not rich resources to break through the critical core technology of a large national advanced equipment.

Professor Lin Haifen from Dalian University of Technology presented a paper titled "Research on the Reconfiguration of Non-Scale Free Resources in the Strategic Change of High-Ending Organization". The research combines the concept of "potential" in traditional Chinese culture and the theory of organizational potential in the context of change, and explores the process of restructuring resources to achieve high-end change under the evolution of organizational potential through a multi-case study of three companies, namely, Feihe, Zhuyeqing and Yadea, in the practice of high-end strategic change.

Zhang Zongze, a master student of LUSM, shared a paper entitled "Integration or Forgetting? A Study on the Path to Enhance the Advantages of New Product under Different Strategic Orientations". Based on empirical analysis of research data from Chinese manufacturing companies, the study explores the comparative advantages of market orientation and technology orientation in enhancing new product development advantages, and analyzes the mediating role of knowledge integration and organizational forgetfulness in this relationship.

He Jiandu, a doctoral student in the School of Business Administration of Northeastern University, presented a paper titled "Growth Mechanism of Digital Platform Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: A Case Study on the Embeddedness of HCH Ventures Based on ‘Thinking, Knowing, Acting’". This study uses the embedded single case study method to propose a framework based on the philosophical idea of "knowledge and action" to explore how the digital platform entrepreneurial ecosystem grows in the process of incubating/accelerating startups, and to contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to related fields.

In the paper presentation session, scholars shared and discussed 11 papers. The focus was on the impact of the CEO-TMT fault on green innovation, the tendency of family firms to be risk-taking or risk-averse, strategic synergy in virtual enterprises, green innovation in response to institutional pressure from government, the important role of market and technology strategic orientation in enhancing new product development performance, the mechanism of the role of digital work requirements on employees' adaptive performance, alliance building mechanism and strategy selection in the initial planning process of strategic alliance based on the organization of scientific and technological innovation platform, the shared preference of network institutional investors for ESG activities and corporate low-carbon innovation, the comparison of four types of cooperative networks, the formation factors of collective intelligence in organizational transformation, and the dynamic model of collective intelligence emergence, etc.

In the afternoon of Dec. 25, Prof. Yao Xiaotao from the School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University presided over the closing ceremony. He summarized the conference and congratulated the success of the conference, and expressed his full recognition and sincere thanks to the organizer. Prof. Wu Jianzu, Associate Dean of LUSM, announced 4 papers awarded as excellent papers. A handover-ceremony was held then, and the committee awarded the flag to Prof. Guo Yi of East China University of Science and Technology and Prof. Jing Runtian of Shanghai Jiaotong University. The next annual conference will be held in Shanghai.
Closing ceremony of the conference
Chinese Academy of Management was established in 1978, which aims at academic exchange and popularization of management science, summary and exchange of practical experience, and is committed to promoting the development of management science in China and improving the level of management in China. There are 17 professional committees under it. Among them, Organization and Strategic Management Committee focuses on the new phenomena and problems of contemporary organizational theory and strategic management, discusses the new thinking and model of organizational development and strategic management, and contributes new tools and new knowledge of organizational analysis and strategic management, with Prof. Xi Youmin, Executive President of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, as the director of the committee.
