On December 15, the 20th Anniversary of LZU Research Center for Chinese Government Performance Management and the 7th Public erformance Governance Forum were held at the Chengguan Campus of LZU. The Forum is hosted by LZU and Chinese Public Administration Society (CPAS), and organized by the Research Center for Chinese Government Performance Management (hereafter “the Center”) and LUSM, with more than 100 academic and professional representitives and representatives of editors-in-chief of core public management journals, mainstream media representatives and PhD students gathered together to review the outstanding development history of the Center over the past 20 years. The invited institutions are from CPAS, Gansu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Nankai University, Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Performance Appraisal Leading Group, the HORIZON Group, and other institutions and colleges and universities.

At the opening ceremony, YANG Yongping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of LZU, GUO Tiankang, vice chairman of the Gansu Provincial Committee of CPPCC, WANG Lei, vice president and secretary-general of CPAS, OU Minghao, member of the Public Management Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and vice chairman of the Teaching Steering Committee for Public Management of MOE, ZHU Guanglei, former vice president of Nankai University and director of the Joint Research Center for Chinese Government Development, and YA Lei, deputy director of the Office of Institutional Preparation Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Commission (Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Performance Appraisal Leading Group), BAO Guoxian, honorary dean of the LUSM and director of the Center, and HE Wensheng, dean of LUSM, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony, and WANG Xuejun, deputy director of the Center and director of LZU Social Sciences Administration, presented a report on the development of the Center. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by SHA Yongzhong, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of LZU.

The Conference was organized with two keynote reports, one roundtable forum and three parallel forums. More than 60 experts, scholars and practical representatives from more than 20 organizations and universities conducted in-depth exchanges centering on the theme of the forum and the topics of “Big Data-driven Government Performance Management”, “Public Finance and Budget Performance Governance”, “Grassroots Governance and Regional Coordinated Development”, etc. They shared their views, experience, and the latest research results in the field of public performance governance, and contributed their academic wisdom to the paths and methods of promoting the modernization of the national governance by government performance management.

The closing ceremony was hosted by Associate Professor TANG Xiao of the School of Public Administration of Tsinghua University, with Prof. ZHOU Zhinren of the School of Government of Peking University, and Prof. MENG Fanrong of the School of Public Policy and Management, Xi'an Jiaotong University, making concluding remarks at the closing ceremony.
