Prof.Wang Zhongming paid a Return Visit to LUSM for AMBA and BGA Accreditation

On the afternoon of June 5th, Wang Zhongming, the international advisor for China of AMBA&BGA, also a senior professor at Zhejiang University, paid a return visit to LUSM for AMBA&BGA accreditation. LUSM’s leadership team, and relevant directors and staff participated in the return visit meeting.

During the session, Wang Zhongming highly praised the preparation and on-site performance of joint accreditation in September 2022, and the development of the School’s various undertakings after the last round of accreditation. He pointed out that the current international accreditation is shifting from an evaluation-focused approach to a development-oriented one, with follow-up and continuous improvement after accreditation as the core work. Additionally, the return visit aims to incorporate feedback from accreditation experts in order to guide the School’s next steps. Wang provided guidance and suggestions not only on curriculum setting, CIM model construction, and education plan revision for the sample program but also offered practical cases as a reference for improvement. He stressed the importance of guiding the School with a high-quality internationalization strategy, deeply integrating responsible education and sustainable development goals into talent training, scientific research, and school management. The major level should be continuously optimized to promote the School’s sustainable development.

Dean He Wensheng, on behalf of LUSM, expressed the gratitude to Wang Zhongming for accreditation instruction and return visit. He stated that the School will analyze, decompose, and implement work tasks item by item based on the suggestions in the feedback report, also increase resource investment, improve the construction of curriculum quality, return to the original aspiration of teaching and talent training. The new concept of green development, the new orientation of development assessment, and the new measure of the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network will promote the rapid development of the School and realize the high-quality internationalization strategy.

In response to Wang Zhongming’s concerns regarding curriculum construction, Liu Yajun, Secretary of LUSM CPC Committee emphasized that faculty members are the key drivers of curriculum construction and have received significant attention and support from the School. To further stimulate their enthusiasm for this task, a series of measures have been implemented. Resources will be further invested, faculty will be coordinated to participate in accreditation and related activities of curriculum construction, and the next stage of work tasks of undergraduate and postgraduate programs will be implemented.

Associate Dean Zhao Yanhai briefly reported on the School’s progress since joint accreditation last September, highlighting revisions to the education plans for both undergraduate and professional degree programs.

Grounded on the relevant suggestions put forward in the return visit and combined with the feedback of accreditation, the School will formulate a guiding plan for the next step of development, respond to the requirements of regional sustainable development, practice the high-quality international strategic measures of alliance cooperation & Silk Road sharing, build upgraded version of high-quality international strategic measures, and fulfill the mission and vision of a high-level university and its school. It drives the School to become the highland of interdisciplinary management research and comprehensive social service platform.

Matters related to the Cooperation Demonstration Base of Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network were also discussed at the meeting.
