LZU Leader Paid a Visit to LUSM and Investigated on its Undergraduate Education
On the morning of October 11th, Gou Xiaohua, vice president of LZU paid a visit to LUSM, investigating the School’s work on undergraduate education. Liu Yajun, Party Secretary of LUSM’s CPC Committee, Zhao Yanhai, associate dean of LUSM, Li Yanxia, Deputy Party Secretary of LUSM’s CPC Committee, directors and associate directors of all departments, and staff related to student affairs and undergraduate education, attended the meeting, which chaired by prof. He Wensheng, dean of LUSM.
At the investigate meeting, the participants discussed on the practice of the LZU’s meeting spirit of the work during 2023 summer vacation, the implementation of the training plan (version 2023), the optimization and adjustment of disciplines and majors, and the audit and evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching.
Zhao Yanhai, associate dean of LUSM, reported the basic situation of the School’s work on undergraduate education and teaching with the status quo of its major in development and reform practice, as well as the measures and initiatives for promoting the adoption of training plans (version 2023) and the future vision of the program development.
On behalf of the School, Liu Yajun introduced the development of the LUSM’s party building and the integration of undergraduate teaching, learning and student affairs. Dean He Wensheng introduced the features and advantages of the School’s practice on undergraduate education through the orientation of four grand strategies, the overall participation of all stakeholders, the construction of teaching infrastructures and the implementation of internationalization. Apart from that, He also elaborated on the challenges the School facing in the future.
Gou Xiaohua praised LUSM’s regular practices for long and its fruitful achievements, while pointed that the School should summarize and sort out the featured practices and experiences in the work of undergraduate education in a timely manner, aiming at the comprehensive growth and development of students, and insisting on the internationalization, digitization, integration of undergraduate teaching, learning and student affairs, and other work that has already been effective, and forming a replicable and popularized experience, so that to set out on a path of innovation in the work of undergraduate education.
Gou Xiaohua asked LUSM to work closely with LZU’s Academic Affairs Office and other functional divisions to form pilot zone for teaching management and reform, and jointly make useful explorations for undergraduate talent cultivation; and to alignment with international standards by setting higher development goals, so as to find out the problems and seek paths for solving them in international comparisons.
