From November 25 to 26, the Fourth Silk Road Global Business School MBA Development Forum (GBSA) and the 2023 Belt and Road Global Business School Innovation and Investment Summit was held in Xi’an. Deans, directors of MBA centers, co-chairs of MBAs, and distinguished alumni representatives from more than 50 renowned business schools and management schools, gathered together and discussed on key topics on the cultivation talent cultivation, the transformation of scientific and technological outcomes, and the sharing of educational and teaching resources in the context of the “Belt and Road” Initiative. Prof. He Wensheng, dean of LUSM, and Prof. Zhang Ruoyong, deputy director of professional degree education center of LUSM, attended the Forum at the invitation of the host institutions.

At the opining ceremony, Li Zhijun, Director of Xi’an Science and Technology Bureau, Zhang Xinliang, President of Xidian University, Chai Jian, Executive dean of the School of Economics and Management of Xidian University, and the rotating chairman of the fourth GBSA delivered speeches in turn, and Duan Baoyan, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave the keynote speech titled Intelligent Manufacturing and Digital Economy.

During the speech delivering session, Feng Gengzhong, dean of School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Chao Lemen, Professor from the School of Information Resource Management of Renmin University of China, He Wensheng, dean of LUSM, Tian Gaoliang, vice dean of Shaanxi Master of Business Administration Institute, associate dean of School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University, reported respectively with topics of "Practices and Experiences of Cultivating Talents of High-level System Management", "Talent Cultivation of Data Science and Case Construction", "Innovative Practices of High-quality MBA Education Driven by AACSB International Accreditation", and "School Running Model of Colleges and Universities Union and Cases of IACBE Accreditation".

Dean He Wensheng from LUSM, mentioned in his report that high-quality development of China’s economy and Chinese-style modernization call for high-quality MBA education, analyzed challenges that MBA education facing nowadays, shared the reform thoughts and practices of MBA education in Lanzhou University, and put forward the future vision for LUSM to promote the development of MBA education based on the School’s strategies of internationalization and digitalization.

On the awarding ceremony, LUSM’s MBA portfolio were awarded “2023 Silk Road MBA Program with the Most Brand Value”, and dean He was awarded the title of the “2023 Leading Education Figures of Silk Road Global Business School”.

The forum is one of the key activities of the Global Key & Core Technology Conference, which is jointly hosted by Xi’an Municipal Committee of the Communist People’s Government, Xi’an Municipal People’s Government, Science and Technology Department of Shaanxi Province, Intellectual Property Office of Shaanxi, Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, and organized by Xidian University and Xi’an Science and Technology Bureau. It aims to conscientiously implement the important instruction of General Secretary Xi Jinping on “deploying the innovation chain focusing on industrial chain and laying out the industrial chain around the innovation chain”, to effectively exerting the advantages of MBA education and alumni in cities’ economic development and scientific and technological innovation, with the concept of openness, inclusiveness, and growth, and the vision of globalization; it builds a cooperative and shared platform for global business education and exchanges, and promotes the development on economic and trade activities, international production capacity cooperation, transformation of scientific and technological fruits as well as education and teaching resources sharing among countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".
