LUSM Held Seminar on National First-class Undergraduate Major Construction of HRM
On the morning of February 28, 2024, the Seminar on the Construction of National First-class Undergraduate Major “Human Resource Management (HRM)” (hereafter “the Seminar”), organized by the Department of Organizational Management, was held in the meeting room 204, Qiyun Building. The Seminar centers on the industry-academia-research (IAR) collaboration of human resource management in the hotel and tourism sectors in Gansu Province, aiming to inject new vitality into the construction and development of the national first-class major of HRM of LUSM. Wong, Chi-sum, professor emeritus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, part-time expert of LUSM, and over 20 faculty members and students in HRM major attended the seminar.
Based on his rich experience in the field of H, Prof. Wong offered insightful suggestions on the integration of the IAR of human resources management in hotel and tourism sectors in Gansu. Prof. Wong pointed out that the construction of relevant databases is the key to promote the integration of IAR, which is of great significance to improve the quality of teaching and research level in human resource management. During the seminar, attendees engaged in discussion actively with in-depth exchanges on how will the IAR collaboration in human resource management of the hotel and tourism industry in Gansu promote the national first-class major construction of HRM. In addition, the Seminar also carried out extensive discussions on topics of how to further strengthen the IAR collaboration, and how to promote the innovation of talent cultivation mode. Attendees of the Seminar expressed that they will take the Seminar as an opportunity to seek in-depth cooperation with leading enterprises and competent administrations in hotel and tourism industry, and promote the deep integration of IAR in human resource management.
The Seminar provides insightful ideas and effective strategies for the national first-class major construction of HRM, it is convincing that in the near future, LUSM’s major of HRM will usher in a broader development prospect and make greater contribution to the development of hotel and tourism industry in Gansu.
