LUSM’s Faculty and Students Participated in the 9th Annual Conference of Human Resources Development of China and won Awards

From November 15 to November 17, the 9th Annual Conference of Human Resources Development of China (2024), hosted by Chinese Association of Human Resource Development (hereafter “the Association”) and co-organized by Human Resources Development of China Magazine (hereafter “the Magazine”) and International Business School of Hainan University, was successfully held in Haikou, with the theme around "Accelerating the Shaping of modern human resources and Promoting high-quality development". Nearly 400 people, including scholars, teachers, students from several colleges and universities through China, alongside renowned entrepreneurs and human resource practitioners attended the conference, and conducted in-depth exchanges. LUSM’s faculty member WEI Xuhua, and students of Human Resource Management in Business Administration participated in the conference and shared academic outcomes.

The conference set up a total of eight keynote speeches, 21 parallel forums, an editor-reader interaction session, research methods workshop, postgraduate education roundtable forum, award ceremony and other sessions. On the evening of November 15, Prof. WEI Xuhua gave a keynote speech on "Longitudinal Meta-analysis in Organizational Management Research: From Micro Workplace to Macro Society" in the Meta-analysis workshop. On the morning of November 16, NIE Qingbin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Hainan University, and OU Xiaoli, chairman of the Association and editor-in-chief of the Magazine, delivered opening speeches respectively. Prof. TANG Ningyu, Vice Chairman of the Association, Dean of the International Business School of Hainan University, and faculty member of the Antai College of Economics & Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, presided over the keynote speech of the conference. The attendees presented insightful talks encompassing a wide range of topics.

On the afternoon of November 16, the parallel sessions kicked off, with LUSM’s doctoral candidates DU Yujiao and TIAN Ruirui, and master's candidate MA Deyong presenting their papers at themed parallel sessions on "Team Collaboration & Performance," "Negative Leadership," "Employee Relations," and "Stigma & Identity." They also engaged in discussions and received feedback from reviewing experts and fellow educators and students from various universities.

On the morning of November 17, Prof. FU Jingtao, Associate Dean of International Business School of Hainan University, chaired the meeting. Three participants then delivered keynote reports, followed by a discussion among five guest speakers on graduate education in human resource management. In the afternoon, scholars gathered for a thematic forum, sharing insights on editor-reader interaction, high-level paper publication, research project applications, and career growth for doctoral students and young teachers.

At the closing ceremony, LI Zhen, Vice Chairman of the Association and Executive Deputy Editor-in-chief of the Magazine, outlined the criteria for selecting outstanding papers and announced the awards list. Du Yujiao, a doctoral student in Prof. WEI Xuhua's team, won the Outstanding Conference Paper Award, highlighting the excellent academic level of LUSM in human resource management.
