LUSM’s Faculty and Students Participated in the 12th China Human Resource Management Forum and won Awards

From October 18 to October 21, 2024, the 12th China Human Resource Management Forum was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It was co-sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Management for Organizational Behavior and HRM, Nanjing University Business School, School of Management, Huazhong University of Science & Technology, and jointly organized by Business School of Sichuan University. Nearly 800 people, including scholars, teachers and students from several colleges and universities through China, alongside renowned entrepreneurs and human resource practitioners attended the forum. The conference centered around the theme of Innovation and Transformation in Human Resource Management for the Development of New Forms of Productivity. LUSMs faculty members WEU Xuhua,LU Wenzhu and graduate students of Human Resource Management in Business Administration participated in the forum and conducted academic exchange activities.

On the morning of October 19, Zhao Shuming, Chairman of the forum, and senior professor of humanities and social sciences and Honorary Dean of the School of Business at Nanjing University, Liu Chao, Vice President of Sichuan University, and Yang Zhi, Dean of School of Management, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Head and Editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Management, delivered speeches successively. Professor Zhao Shuming and five other guests made keynote presentations on Data analysis and research on human resources in the age of number intelligence, Behavioral science research in the age of intelligence, Human and AI: new thinking on human resources development in the age of number intelligence, Focusing on the origin of phenomena: Constructing innovative theories with chinese characteristics through case studies, and Artificial Intelligence and social science: Taking AIQ as an example. The School’s doctoral candidates, Zhang Yue and Yu Jingting, alongside master's degree candidate Wang Yilin, represented their research teams at the conference by presenting and discussing their academic papers. They were attentive to the insights offered by forum review experts, as well as educators and peers from other participating universities. In the evening of October 19, parallel forum sessions were held, covering diverse topics such as the latest advancements in HR, research methodologies, HR think tank investigations, and submissions for national projects.

On the morning of October 20th, LIU Zuoyi, Deputy Director of the Management Science Department at NSFC, alongside Professor Hu Jia from Tsinghua University and Professor ZHANG Haina from Sichuan University, each presented insightful speeches focusing on their respective areas: funding dynamics, the compassionate leadership paradigm in the new technological era, and the foundational theoretical framework for qualitative research in human resource management. Subsequently, the entrepreneur lecture and the scholar dialogue kicked off. The forum invited Ding Yunbo, chief digital Officer of Huashi Group Co., LTD., Chairman of Huashi Digital Industry Group, Yan Jiao, Minister of Human Resources of Tongwei Group, to discuss issues such as enterprise digital transformation and human resource management with Professor Liu Shanshi from South China University of Technology and Professor Yan Aimin from Central South University.

At the closing ceremony, Prof. ZHANG Zhengtang of Nanjing University Business School announced the list of winning papers of the forum. Professor Zhang Ruoyongs research paper Mechanisms Influencing Bystander Behavior through Workplace Vigilante Punishment Motivation and Professor WEI Xuhuas research paper Friendship Ties or Hostility Ties: The Impact of Clan Faultlines in Family-Non-Family Executive Teams on Digital Transformation won the third prize of Shu Ming Paper Award and the Excellent Paper Award respectively.

Through their participation in this forum, faculty members and students of LUSM were not only apprised of the latest research advancements and cutting-edge trends in human resource management; they also embarked on profound interactions and dialogues with esteemed experts and scholars nationwide, significantly broadening their academic perspectives and refining their academic communication proficiencies.
