International Forum on Public Performance Governance opened in Lanzhou University

During Oct. 5-7th, the International Forum on Public Performance Governance: Academic Frontier and Global Experience, sponsored by School of Management and China Center for Local Government Performance Evaluation in Lanzhou University, is held in Yifu Museum. There are 55 distinguished scholars and officials home and abroad in government performance management participating in this forum.
The opening ceremony is held on Oct. 6th, Prof. Chen Fahu, vice president of Lanzhou University; Gao Xiaoping, vice-chairperson of Chinese Public Administration Society & chairperson of National Government Performance Management Research Association; Prof. Zhang Chengfu, deputy dean of School of Public Administration and Policy, member of public management discipline appraisal group in Academic Degree Commission of the State Council; Prof. Wu Jiang, president of Chinese Academy of Personnel Science, vice-chairperson of International Association of Administrative Sciences; Prof. Ronald L. Tammen, dean of Hatfield School of Government in Portland State University; Prof. Bao Guoxian, dean of School of Management and director of China Center for Local Government Performance Evaluation, attend the ceremony and deliver speeches respectively. The opening ceremony is hosted by He Wensheng, deputy dean of School of Management in Lanzhou University.
During Oct. 5-6th of the forum, the 1st Doctoral Forum on Government Performance Management is held in Yifu Museum, the topic of which is “Government Performance Management: History, Comparison and Evolution”. There are more than 32 PhDs from 16 famous universities and research institutes home and abroad giving reports and having discussion in the forum. 8 papers are awarded as excellent papers. The doctoral forum has more than 20 experts home and abroad in public performance governance, besides, the exchanges and discussions are carried out among the PhDs and experts.
Lanzhou University is the first university to set up “government performance management” as the second-level discipline doctoral program. This doctoral forum will extend the influence of Lanzhou University in government performance management, promote the construction of national government performance management disciplines, and play an active role in talent cultivation.
