LZU Leaders Congratulating Wu Zhaohua, the LUSM Undergraduate, for His Winning of the Gold Medal of Men’s Daoshu & Gunshu All-round at 18th Asian Games
On Aug.21, Wu Zhaohua of China has won the gold medal in the Men’s Daoshu & Gunshu All-round at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, who is also the undergraduate of 2017 of School of Management, Lanzhou University. Before him, Kan Wencong, also the LZU student, had won the gold medal in the Women’s Jianshu/ Qiangshu All-round at 16th Asian Games in 2010, and gold medal in the Women’s Changquan Final at 17th Asian Games in 2014 respectively. LZU Party Secretary Yuan Zhanting and President Yan Chunhua have sent the congratulation letter to the winner, as follows.

We are with the great pleasure and honor to hear the news that you have won the gold medal in the Men’s Daoshu & Gunshu All-round at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. Please allow us, on behalf of all faculties and students, to send our warmest congratulations.
You, as the excellent representative of LZU, together with all your peers in the LZU Wushu (Martial Arts) Team, have borne in mind the Olympic Spirit, shown off your fine tradition of great perseverance, given your very best and achieve great results, fully displaying the LZU image in the new ear to the whole world and vividly illustrate the LZU spirit of “Constantly Improving, Blazing Our Own Path”. What’s more, we would also like to pay tribute to all instructors and student-athletes of Department of Physical Education and Research who have worked so hard to achieve this.

The 18th Asian Games was held from August 18 to September 2, 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia. According to the final announcement of the State General Administration of Sports, Wu Zhaohua has been selected in Chinese Sports Delegation, to compete in the Men’s Daoshu & Gunshu All-round, together with Mr. Li Shaocheng, as the technical officer to judge the Wushu (martial arts) related competitions.
Wu Zhaohua, born in 1988 in Jiangsu Province, has been enrolled by our University in 2017. He has started to practice martial arts when he was very young, and won excellent results in several important competitions, such as the champion of the Men’s Changquan Final in Asian Wushu (martial arts) Taolu (routine) Competition in 2016, Champion of National Wushu (martial arts) Taolu (routine) Competition in 2016, the first prize of the Men’s Changquan & Daoshu & Gunshu All-round in the National Wushu (martial arts) Taolu (routine) Competition in 2017.
