Secretariat of ICGP to be Set Up in Lanzhou University

The 6th International Conference on Government Performance Management and Leadership (GPML-2019) was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from September 25 to 27. The delegation from LZU China Research Center for Government Performance Management led by Guoxian Bao, the Honorary Dean of LUSM attended the event. After the meeting, the establishment of International Consortium of Government Performance, ICGP was announced, the by-law was passed, which is the result of a decade's efforts of international academic community in government performance management. The Board of directors decided the secretariat of ICGP to be set up in Lanzhou University.
Xuejun Wang, Associate Dean of LUSM and member of LZU China Research Center for Government Performance Management said that ICGP’s decision to base its secretariat in Lanzhou University is not only a full affirmation of LUSM and China GPM research center’s initiation and promotion of GPML, but also a highly recognition of the discipline construction and scientific research achievements in GPM at Lanzhou University, and an expectation for Lanzhou University to coordinate with relevant research institutions and public sectors at home and abroad to jointly promote the growth of GPM community as well.
The International Conference on Government Performance Management and Leadership (GPML) was initiated by the School of Management at Lanzhou University, China, the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University, USA and Public Service Research Institute at Waseda University, Japan in 2009. The GPML is a bi-annual conference and has been held in Lanzhou, China; Portland, USA; Tokyo, Japan; Khon Kaen, Thailand and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It has become one of the most influential academic conferences in the field of GPM research at home and abroad.
