“Belt and Road” Forum for International Business Education Held in Dunhuang
From Sept. 26 to 27, the “Belt and Road” Forum for International Business Education (hereafter as the forum) was successfully held in Dunhuang by School of Management, Lanzhou University, as a joint effort with Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Gansu Province, and Dunhuang Municipal Government.
With the theme of “Work together to build ‘Belt and Road’: new challenges and missions for business education”, the forum has attracted nearly 100 participants, including deans of business schools, scholars and experts from top universities along countries and regions along B&R, and officials as well as practitioners from government departments and business sectors, and experts and guests from relevant business education and international accreditation organizations, to discuss the latest trends and hot issues facing the development of business education in the context of the “Belt and Road” initiative.

The forum has four sessions and a round-table dialogue, as 1) The Governance Issues and Management Challenges brought by Belt and Road Initiative; 2) The Impact of Belt and Road Initiative on Business Education; 3) The Prospect of Cooperation among Business Schools along the Silk Road; 4) International Accreditation of Business Education and Latest Trend of Global Business Education Development; and DIALOGUE: Challenges and Opportunities Faced by Chinese Enterprises under Belt and Road Initiative. The forum has enjoyed experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics, Shandong University, Taiwan Normal University, Almaty Management University, Lahore University of Management Sciences, University of Nevada, Reno; and from international accreditation organizations, all together delivered speeches focusing on the B&R impact on business education and the latest trends in the development of global business education. The speakers' views were cutting-edge and explored how business education and business schools can play a more active role in promoting the construction of B&R which drew a warm response from the participants.

During the round-table dialogue, entrepreneurs and scholars also held a lively discussion on the challenges and opportunities faced by Chinese enterprises in the context of B&R, which resonated strongly with the participants.
