Recently, the Department of Social Sciences of Ministry of Education (MOE) released the evaluation results of the general projects in humanities and social sciences during the centralized application reception period in 2024. 6 projects of LUSM have been approved, including 3 Planning Fund programs and 3 Youth Fund programs. The faculty applicants performed well with their project approval rate accounting for 40% of LZU's total.

In addition, the MOE announced The Decision on the Reward of the 9th Scientific Research Outstanding Award in Higher Institution (Humanities and Social Sciences), and a total of two research achievements of LUSM were awarded. Prof. He Wensheng’s SME Development Environment Evaluation Report of Gansu Province won the third prize of Consulting Service Report Award, and Prof. Wang Xuejun’s paper Beyond Efficiency or Justice: The Structure and Measurement of Public Servants’ Public Values Preferences won the Youth Achievement Award. This is a new breakthrough and progress made by the School’s faculty members in high-level scientific research.
