On May 7, the President of Lanzhou University Wang Cheng had a talk with Prof. Wang Chongming. President Wang Cheng affirmed the achievement of LUSM and expressed that the university would keep on supporting for the AMBA Accreditation. Dean Bao Guoxian made a work report from three aspects of MBA program: the development basis, development process and features and rectification work for AMBA accreditation.

During the period of pre-assessment, Prof. Wang Chongming had a discussion with MBA tutors, students representatives, alumni and employers, and inspected the labs, research institutes and other teaching facilities. Prof. Wang gave specific guidance and suggestions for the accreditation.

The AMBA pre-assessment was based on Prof. Wang’s first time visiting to LUSM in Jan. After four months rectification and perfection, LUSM MBA program got the pre-accreditation successfully, which meant that LUSM had made great progress in the process of accreditation. Since the quality of LUSM’S MBA program has been recognized preliminary, the School will make a further improvement according to the rectification suggestions and welcome the official accreditation, which is about to begin in August.

The Association of MBAs (AMBA) is the international impartial authority on postgraduate business education, established in 1967 by a small group of business graduates with the aim to raise the profile of business education and the MBA qualification in UK and Europe. AMBA accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education and is earned only by the best programmes. The Accreditation is of great significance for improving the School’s MBA program’s international credibility and status and promote the building of high-level business school.
