Wensheng He and Jianzu Wu Attended 2016 AAPBS Annual Conference

From Oct. 25 2016 to Oct. 28, 2016, Wensheng He, Assistant Dean and Professor of School of Management and Jianzu Wu, Assistant to the Dean and Professor of School of Management attended the 2016 annual conference of Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS) held in Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). They communicated and exchanged ideas with scholars and have achieved fruitful results.

The theme of 2016 conference is “Innovation of Business Education-Challenges Faced by Asia-Pacific Region”. Kwon Okyu, former vice prime minister and minister of finance and strategy of Korea, Professor Tam Kar Yan, Dean of HKUST Business School, Professor Chris Styles, Dean of UNSW Business School, head of Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and officials of AAPBS have made speeches on themes such as leadership challenges faced by Asia-Pacific region, comparison between eastern and western leadership and challenges faced by business schools. Besides, the delegates have discussed such issues as opportunities and threats faced during the development of business schools in Asia-Pacific region, and the development of AAPBS.

During the conference, Professor He and Professor Wu further discussed academic cooperation and international accreditation with other participants. At the dinner party, Assistant Dean He has introduced the 2ed Silk Road International Business School Deans Forum which will be held in Dunhuang, Gansu Province in 2017 and invited the guests to attend. Deans of many business schools showed interest and willingness.

The 2016 AAPBS Annual Conference has a positive meaning for the deepening of communication and cooperation between School of Management, Lanzhou University and members of AAPBS, especially in student cultivation, projects development, scientific research, and international accreditation and has increased the influence of Lanzhou University on business schools in Asia-Pacific region.
