Professor Guoxian Bao and Other Delegates Attended 2016 AMBA Asia Pacific Conference for Deans and Directors
Between 13-17 November 2016, Prof. Guoxian Bao, dean of the School of Management LZU, Xin He, associate dean, Yanhai Zhao, deputy director of MBA center and Dr. Kangzhou Wang attended 2016 AMBA Asia Pacific Conference for Deans and Directors held in Nagoya University of Commerce and Business in Japan.
It is the first time that AMBA Asia-Pacific Conference is held in Japan since its establishment 49 years ago. The 2016 conference is hosted by Nagoya University of Commerce and Business (NUCB), and the theme is "Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in a Changing Economy”, which aims to provide business schools in the Asia-Pacific region with a platform for exchange and learning opportunity, and to promote the development of business education in the region. More than 100 representatives from over 10 Asia-Pacific countries and regions, 40 business education institutions and 10 companies and enterprises have attended the conference and discussed issues such as "Business Education Development in the Next 10 Years", "MBA Project Design and Career Planning”, "Innovation and Entrepreneurial Curriculum Construction", "Digitalized Teaching" and "MBA Education and High-level Thesis Publishing" in the form of reports, forums and discussions.

The opening ceremony on 14th was chaired by Mr. Wilson, CEO of AMBA. Then Emeritus Professor Andrew Lock, Chairman of the International Accreditation Advisory Board and Trustee Director reviewed and forecasted the development and future trend of international business education; Kai Peters, Chief Executive and Chief Academic Officer of Ashridgel introduced the latest management practice in international business schools, and Craig Saphin, Executive Director of Craig Saphin Consulting introduced the close relationship between the MBA program and managers’ career planning.
On 15th, Dr. Shigeo Kagami from Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Division of University Corporate Relations of the University of Tokyo, and Professor Zhongming Wang from the School of Management, Zhejiang University shared latest progress in innovation and entrepreneurship education in their universities. Kevin Hoyle, Senior Account Executive of Vital Source and Fujiyo Ishiguro, President & CEO of Netyear Group Corporation introduced their experience in digitalized teaching and women's entrepreneurship education respectively. Later on, Jay Kang, Academic Relations Manager-Asia of Educational Testing Service (ETS) and Chairman of AMBA International Management Board introduced the basic situation and development trend of MBA students' application, admission and international exchange in the Asia-Pacific region. Lucas Toutloff, Project Manager of Cabell’s International explained how to publish high-level research papers.
On the morning of 16th, according to the arrangement of organization committee, delegates have also visited headquarter, R & D center and Just-in-time production line of Toyota Motor Corporation. On the afternoon of the same day, George Iliev, Director of Development Markets of AMBA introduced changes in accreditation standards and the evaluation process, and made demands on how to conduct responsible international business education. Professor Takehiko Ito, Associate Dean of the NUCB, and Professor Martyn Jones, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Kingston University presented the opportunities and challenges that international business education is facing.
During the conference, the delegates from School of Management, LZU introduced measures taken by LZU in "One Belt One Road" business education and international cooperation to organizations of AMBA, participating countries (regions) and domestic institutions, and communicated with delegates from institutions of United Kingdom, Japan and Australia on carrying out international cooperation projects and high-level cooperative research. Through the visit, the delegates has learned the latest trends in international business education, as well as the latest trends and applications of innovation and entrepreneurship and digital education in MBA education in business schools in Asia-Pacific region, which is of great importance to enhance the level of business education in our school and to promote international cooperation, and at the meanwhile has laid a good foundation for AMBA re-certification of our school in 2017.
