On October 22, 2018, the application meeting of setting up the Committee of Government Performance Management for Chinese Academy of Management (CAM) was held in School of Management, Lanzhou University. The CAM Secretary-General Zhao Jinghua, CAM Administration Officer Shi Gushan, Associate Prof. Zhang Jian and Li Yuhuan of Central University of Finance and Economics attended the meeting, together with participants of LUSM, including Prof. Bao Guoxian, the Honorary Dean as well as Director of China Research Center for Government Performance Management, LUSM Party Secretary Yao Chengfu, and Associate Dean Miao Xuliang.

Prof. Bao Guoxian reported for the application to set up the Committee of Government Performance Management (hereafter “the Committee”) from four perspectives, as its background, necessity, current conditions, and future plan. He said that the Committee could pool more consensus on the research of government performance, facilitate the improvement in its practice, promote the discipline construction, and support the talent cultivation. After the report, Prof. Zhao Jinghua highly praised the development of public administration in LUSM. He agreed that LUSM has been fully prepared to establish the Committee, not only for its solid research foundation, but also for other running conditions. The Party Secretary Yao Chengfu responded that LUSM will guarantee the construction of the Committee in every aspects.

After the meeting, all participants inspected the running conditions of LUSM.

The Chinese Academy of Management (CAM), established on November 15, 1978, is the national level academic society directly administrated by China Association for Science and Technology. The CAM, as the bridge to connect people engaging management research and practice from academic circles, enterprises, governments and other organizations, aims to promote the development of Chinese management science and its corresponding disciplines, and upgrade the management level in China.
