From Nov.15 to 16, 2018, the 8th Forum (2018) on Audit Theory Innovation Development (FATID 2018) was held in Chongqing, hosted by Center for China’s Governmental Auditing Research, and co-hosted by Business School of Southwest University of Political Science and Law. More than 100 experts and scholars participated in the Forum. Prof. Sun Yan, the Accounting Department Head of LUSM and Ms. Liu Shuangshuang, the postgraduate candidate on Accounting also attend the Forum per the invitation from the host. 

On the Forum, the Party Secretary Fan Wei from Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Chairman Dong Dasheng from China Auditing Society, and Deputy Director Deng Kaiwei from Auditing Bureau of Chongqing Municipality delivered welcoming speech on the opening ceremony of the Forum. Then some famous experts shared their thoughts on auditing research, including Prof. Qin Rongsheng, President of Beijing National Accounting Institute; Prof. Cai Chu, Director of Center for China’s Government Auditing Research; Prof. Yao Shujie, Chang Jiang Scholar from Chongqing University; Prof. Chen Donghua, Chang Jiang Scholar from Nanjing University; Prof. Ke Bin, Chang Jiang Scholar from National University of Singapore; Prof. Chen Hanwen from University of International Business and Economics; Prof. Xue Shuang from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics; Prof. Yang Suchang from Lanzhou University; Porf. Chen Wei from Nanjing Audit University; Prof. Huang Shengzhong, Dean of Business School of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, et al. Prof. Sun Yan was invited to comment on a session, while Ms. Liu Shuangshuang present her research paper in a session.

On the Academic Committee Meeting of the Center for China’s Government Auditing Research in the evening of Nov.15, Prof. Sun Yan delivered the speech for the bid to host the next Forum by LUSM in 2019. After the oral defense, panel discussion, and voting session, LUSM successfully won the bid to host the FATID 2019. At the closing ceremony on Nov.16, Prof. Sun Yan gave a speech on behalf of LUSM, as the next host and extend the warm welcome to all experts nationwide to attend the Forum in 2019.   

The winning of the bid does not come easy. It involves the efforts by all faculty of accounting team in LUSM over the past one year, and the guidance from Director Cai Chun of Center for China’s Governmental Auditing Research and other members from its academic committee, who offering precious suggestions and advices. For LUSM, to host the FATID 2019 could exert positive influence on its discipline development, research, and student education. 

Center for China’s Governmental Auditing Research, founded in 2007, is an auditing research platform with the joint efforts by Research Institute of National Audit Office, China Auditing Society, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. In order to facilitate the audit theory innovation, the Center set the annual meeting of “Forum on Audit Theory Innovation Development”, held on Friday in the 3rd week of November each year. Over the past 8 forums, the 1st, 2nd, and 7th forum were held in Chengdu by the Center; the 3rd held in Beijing by the Center and Peking University; the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th held by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Jinan University, Beijing Technology and Business University, and Southwest University of Political Science and Law respectively. The success and influence of the Forum cannot leave the diligent efforts made by Director Cai Chun as well as other committee members.
