LUSM Held the Annual Meeting
On January 12, LUSM held its annual meeting with the theme of“The Pilot Reform to Facilitate World-class Discipline Construction”. More than 200 people, including all faculty and student delegates, attended the meeting. The School Party Secretary Yao Chengfu hosted the meeting.
Dean He Wensheng delivered the work report themed on “The Commitment by the School to Boost the Pilot Reform”, reviewing the progresses, development and thoughts on the work in 2018, and laying out the plan for 2019. According to He, the School would carry out various work requested by the Pilot Reform on the basis of the School practical developing conditions.
Honorary Dean Bao Guoxian, also as the founding dean, said in his speech that the Pilot Reform should be taken as a great opportunity to further our development. In this way, Bao stressed that the World-class Discipline Construction should be given continued attention when marching towards our goals and growth points; the Pilot Reform should be consolidated, optimized and made breakthroughs; and the School culture of people-oriented and professor-governing should be inherited and be optimized into the culture emphasizing discipline culture as well as program culture.
Faculty and student delegates, focusing on various topics as the Pilot Reform, research team construction, teaching team, education quality, undergraduate competitiveness, and so on, have offered their thoughts and suggestions after the group discussions. Lang Mei, Shao Jianping, Shen Xiaoqiang, Chai Guorong, Zhang Yongkang and Peng Hongjiu delivered the discussion results of each group respectively.
The annual meeting is routine in the School, held in the end of each academic year, is considered as a platform for faculty and students to exchange thoughts and reach consensus on the development of the School. The current meeting is the 15th annual meeting since the founding of the School in 2004.
