School of Management Established Long-Term Assistance Relationship with Yuzhong Yuanzi Middle School
On May 24th, School of Management Lanzhou University and Yuanzi Middel School in Yuzhong County signed a long-term assistance agreement. According to the agreement, School of Management should provide a 5-year fixed point support for Yuanzi Middle School to fundamentally improve their hardware conditions. All the money and articles were endowed by MBA graduates. This activity made students understand social duty more deeply, reflected the emphasis from School of Management on education of MBA students’ honor and responsibility and gave a definite form to the fulfillment of this educational tenet.
Up to now, computer room and library have been built and the endowment includes one water purification unit, ten computers, one printer and thousands of books whose value amounts to 100,000 RMB. Later on, more endowment will be sent to Yuanzi Middle School in succession.
On the day of signing the agreement, more than 40 student representatives of MBA graduates in 2006 from School of Management came to attend the activity. Teachers and students from Yuanzi Middle School expressed their gratitude towards them. They also did some activities, such as the push-and-pull and an informal discussion. The media made the tracking report such as Lanzhou Morning, West Business and so on.
The Yuanzi Junior Middle School lies in the poorest Xiaocha Village, Yuanzi, Yuzhong County, which is the poverty in remote mountainous area. All water for daily life comes from the stored rainwater. In the school, the teaching buildings are obsolete, facilities are out of date and learning conditions are extremely poor.
